Beaufort appeared almost suddenly, with little warning. As we came over the crest of the bridge we soon realized we were about to enter the town. We had no real agenda, nor knowledge of the area so we parked our car and made a plan to get coffee. Bay Street, sounded like a safe bet and seemed busy enough, so we headed north in search of a coffee shop. Slowly moving down the sidewalk we allowed ourselves to be distracted by little boutique stores, stopping in several along the way.

Pausing to look at a map, I noticed a Church of a fair size at the end of the aptly named Church Street, and thought it might herald some nice scenery. So we headed inland pausing to admire - mouths agape - the beauty of the well maintained houses. White wooden sided mansions were punctuated with strong black shutters, the ceilings of the porches were painted a delicate sky blue and pretty white churches seemed to sit on every corner with enough space around them to really let them show off.
